SINGAPORE: The Land Transport Authority declared on Sunday, August 25, that the network of cycling paths along Choa Chu Kang and Yew Tee has been completed.
Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong, who serves as Chua Chu Kang GRC Grassroots Organisations’ grassroots adviser, inaugurated the roughly 11-kilometer cycling paths.
Now that the two towns’ amenities—Chua Chu Kang Community Club, Lot One, Teck Whye Shopping Centre, Sunshine Place, and Yew Tee Point—can be easily and safely reached by bicycle, the LTA stated. By enhancing the current park connectors, these bike paths also improve access to parks like Yew Tee and Choa Chu Kang parks.
All of the Bukit Panjang LRT line’s stations, as well as Yew Tee and Choa Chu Kang MRT stations, are now reachable by bike paths thanks to the network of cycling paths being completed.
At the Choa Chu Kang MRT station and the Keat Hong, Phoenix, South View, and Teck Whye LRT stations, more than 300 bicycle parking spaces have been added.
“With the seamlessly connected networks of cycling paths throughout the towns, individuals seeking to integrate more active modes of transportation into their lifestyles now have the option to cycle to amenities in other towns, such as Bukit Panjang.
