According to a survey of 31 nations this week by Paris-based Ipsos, only 37% of Japanese respondents said they were satisfied by romance and sex, compared to 76% of the top-ranked Indian and Mexican respondents.
South Koreans, who reported the second-worst sexual satisfaction rate at 45%, are also unhappy. According to the same Ipsos survey, South Koreans are the least satisfied with their “relationships with partners and spouses,” while Japanese people are in second place.
When asked if they “feel loved” in life, 51% of Japanese respondents replied that they do, which is the worst of all. South Koreans and Italians came in somewhat higher at 63%.
According to Ipsos, “the personality of Japanese people who aren’t good at articulating their emotions and attitudes when it comes to romance” is one factor contributing to the dissatisfaction.
