Financial markets surged as world leaders rushed to congratulate Donald Trump on his surprise victory against Kamala Harris in the US election.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a routine briefing that China wishes for “peaceful coexistence” with the United States, without specifically addressing Trump.
“We will continue to approach and handle China-US relations based on the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation,” she stated.
Moscow’s foreign ministry stated that it will “work with” a new US government and prioritize accomplishing its “set goals” in Ukraine, adding that it had no illusions about the American president-elect. The statement stated that its “conditions” for resolving the disagreement “remain the same and are widely recognized in Washington. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Trump’s probable victory marked a turning point in US-Israeli ties.
“Congratulations on the biggest comeback in history! Your historic return to the White House provides a new beginning for America and a strong reaffirmation of the great bond between Israel and America. Netanyahu declared, “This is a huge victory!” in a statement released by his office.
