Emphasizing their customer-centric approach, Steven shares, “We currently have a team of eight agents, all really solid people who I trust completely. We don’t believe in heavy sales pressure or shouting the loudest. What matters most to us is giving good, personal advice. Whether someone is investing €180K or €2 million, they deserve the full attention. From selecting the right property to handling paperwork, or even opening a bank account, we are always ready to guide our clients.”

Leading By Doing: A Successful Leader in the Industry

Steven believes a good leader is someone who listens before speaking, who’s open to feedback and sees potential where others see risk, and above all, it’s about being human first. “People work better when they’re happy, that’s something I learned from my family early on,” he reflects.

At HUIS, Steven ensures the creation of a calm, respectful work environment without any stress culture, as he believes that’s especially important in sales, where pressure is often sky-high. With a strong belief in trust over any targets, Steven adds, “If your team feels supported and your clients feel heard, success follows naturally.”

“Being Dutch also helps, as I am still the down-to-earth boy from Rotterdam, even when deals get complex or the market moves fast. And, I always try to lead by example, show up, work hard, stay fair, and never panic,” he further mentions.

Adaptability Amidst Tech-Driven Innovations

By embracing digital tools, right from CRM systems to virtual tours, automated updates, and client dashboards, HUIS has adapted to the digital revolution and tech-driven innovations, but still keeps the human aspect above tech. “People don’t invest in Dubai real estate because of a fancy funnel,” he adds, “They invest because they feel heard, respected, and confident in the advice they’re getting. So we keep it personal, always.”

Words of Wisdom For Beginners

For someone just starting out in the field of real estate, Steven suggests first learning to be patient. Real estate in Dubai can look flashy from the outside, but it’s hard work. Gaining an in-depth knowledge of the field, including contracts, laws, payment plans, neighborhoods, developer reputations, and more, is crucial to sustaining in this industry.

“Don’t focus on making quick money; rather, focus on building real relationships. Listen more than you speak and don’t fake knowledge but ask questions. If you don’t know something, say it and go find the answer. People respect honesty more than a perfect sales pitch. Additionally, treat every deal as if it were your own investment, rather than pushing it to a client. And lastly, build your own brand. Avoid copying other agents, figure out what makes you different and lean into it. In a market like Dubai, personality and trust go a long way,” Steven suggests.
