Can you please provide us with some information about yourself, including your early life and education?
I was born in the picturesque town of Magdeburg, Germany. My educational journey led me to become a real estate manager. Later on, I moved to the bustling city of Berlin, which I hold dear to my heart. In Berlin, I wore two hats: one as a Real Estate Manager and the other as a self-employed Personal Trainer in the fitness industry.
In 2017, I decided to take a leap of faith and began traveling the world, exploring the wonders of Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. It was during these adventures that I stumbled upon my passion for online marketing, specifically Search Engine Optimization (SEO). This newfound skill became my lifeline, helping me finance my travels.
Fast forward to 2022, I found a new home in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Teaming up with Robin Engel, an expert in Community Building, we co-founded MetaMuffin, a marketing agency. Our primary focus is on providing marketing solutions to NFT companies.
Could you tell us about your company and its presence in the Singapore region?
MetaMuffin is a marketing agency specializing in web3. While we are based in the USA, our primary target audience consists of German speakers. This means we assist international companies aiming to penetrate the DACH region, as well as German companies looking to expand into international markets. To effectively cater to this business model, it’s crucial for us to maintain a robust international network. This is where Singapore plays a pivotal role. We find Singapore particularly intriguing due to its progressive stance on web3, cryptocurrencies, and NFTs.
On a personal note, during the recent crypto event, Token2049, I was taken aback by the beauty of the city and the warmth of its residents. Who knows? I might even consider relocating to Singapore in the future.
How has the year been for your company in terms of overall performance and achievements?
2023 is shaping up to be an exhilarating year for MetaMuffin and the team. Given that both Robin Engel and I had primarily been overseas in the preceding years, the German market was somewhat unfamiliar to us in 2022. To establish our footprint, we launched our YouTube channel that year.
In 2023, we rolled out our German web3 blog, www.metamuffin.de, which subsequently led to our initial customer engagements.
Moreover, we’ve been toying with the idea of launching our own educational academy. It’s currently under development, and we’re optimistic about inaugurating it before 2023 concludes.
We’re genuinely elated with our trajectory. Work is abundant; our primary challenge lies in time management.
In the current competitive market, what does your business offer that sets it apart from others?
Our distinct advantage is rooted in our network. A prevalent challenge in web3 Germany is the inclination of Germans to associate primarily with fellow Germans. Those who seek broader interactions often find themselves exclusively in international groups. We bridge this gap, serving as the vital link between the two. Networking is an integral component of our company’s ethos.

From my experience, the strength and quality of one’s network is paramount. For instance, we acquired our latest client purely because of our dedication to nurturing relationships. This cannot be emphasized enough! Building a network isn’t about amassing contacts; it’s about forging and sustaining genuine relationships.
My second piece of advice is to be discerning about the assignments you accept and to clearly delineate mutual goals in writing. In the realm of web3, many possess intriguing project ideas. However, as a company, it’s vital to align with partners who resonate with your values.
