SINGAPORE: Typhoon Ampil’s effects on the weather on Thursday, August 15, have affected several Singapore Airlines (SIA) flights to and from Tokyo.
According to the airline’s advisory, eight SIA flights to and from Narita and Haneda airports have been rescheduled. Six of these flights (SQ12, SQ632, and SQ633) were from Singapore to Tokyo.
An airline representative responded to CNA’s inquiry on Thursday by saying that SIA would contact the impacted customers to let them know about the change in flight schedule.
Consumers can request a complete refund for the portion of their ticket they did not use, or they can ask to be rebooked on different flights.
The crew’s and our clients’ safety comes first at all times. Customers are apologised for any inconvenience. “SIA will continue to monitor the situation closely and make any adjustments, as necessary,” the airline stated.
Narita International Airport issued an advisory on Thursday stating that the typhoon may cause delays or cancellations to flights and ground transportation. For more information, kindly contact your airline or ground transportation provider.
