KUALA LUMPUR: After two attackers broke his car’s windscreen and threatened him with a hammer, former Malaysian captain Safiq Rahim became the third football player to be attacked in the previous week.
After training with Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT), one of Asia’s best clubs managed by the crown prince of the Johor royal family, late on Tuesday, May 7, in southern Johor state, Safiq was not hurt in the attack.

Along with the police report, he posted a copy of it on Instagram, stating, “Two men on a motorbike suddenly approached my car armed with a hammer and smashed my rear car windscreen.”
