Singapore Changi Airport came in second place, while Qatar’s Hamad International Airport in Doha was crowned the world’s greatest airport in 2024 by London-based air transport rating agency Skytrax.
In addition, the airport won the titles of best airport in the Middle East and best airport in the world for shopping during the awards ceremony held at the Passenger Terminal Expo 2024 in Frankfurt, Germany. Over the last ten years, Hamad International Airport has grown significantly due to the addition of retail and lifestyle amenities, such as an Orchard and an indoor garden connected by a bridge.
Its passenger traffic rose 31% in 2023, handling over 45 million passengers across 250 destinations.
Second-place winner In addition to winning the title of best airport in Asia and best airport immigration service globally in 2023, Singapore Changi Airport earned the world’s best airport award. Crowne Plaza Changi Airport was recognized as the greatest airport hotel globally for the ninth time.
