SINGAPORE: On Wednesday, February 21, a go-karting accident on the Indonesian island of Batam claimed the life of a Singaporean woman.
The Riau Islands regional police’s Senior Superintendent Zahwani Pandra Arsyad recognized her as 33-year-old Arini Mohamed Adinan.
According to Mr. Zahwani, the accident happened at Golden City Go-Kart in Bengkong at approximately 3.30 p.m. local time (4.30 p.m. Singapore time). He further mentioned that Ms. Arini had recently celebrated her birthday and was on vacation with friends in Batam.
A witness spotted Ms. Arini driving a go-kart car bearing the number 14 around the circuit twice, according to Mr. Zahwani, as reported by Berita Mediacorp.
The deceased’s first go-karting session went without a hitch. But go-kart number 14 abruptly and violently slammed into the tire barrier. The problem was not with the tires,” he stated.
The witness, who Mr. Zahwani claimed was employed by the venue’s gaming room, went up to Ms. Arini and noticed that her helmet had come loose as a result.
