SINGAPORE: Mediacorp’s news and current affairs brand, CNA, will soon be available in North America, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
This will be done across various media, including television streaming services, YouTube, and a curated version of the CNA website, with the deployment taking place in stages throughout the year.
The move will appeal to individuals in these regions seeking breaking news and informative films about Asia, particularly China, Japan, and Korea, said Mediacorp chairman Niam Chiang Meng during CNA’s 25th-anniversary celebration at Capella Singapore on Tuesday (March 19).
Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, who attended the occasion as a guest of honour, said CNA faces a difficult journey as it builds on its foundations.
In his speech, he stated: “In this highly fought and fragmented media world, there will be pressure to compromise and create clickbait, sensationalist content solely to grab eyeballs. You must resist the temptation and continue to uphold your high standards.
