SINGAPORE: On Tuesday evening, August 20, many StarHub customers in various parts of Singapore complained about problems with their broadband service. Some claimed to have intermittent connectivity, while others said they had none at all. As of 8.30 p.m., the outage tracking website Downdetector had received over 7,000 reports.
At approximately 8:00 p.m., StarHub announced on Facebook that it was aware that some customers may be experiencing “disruptions” to their broadband service and that it was “working to resolve the issue promptly”.
In the comments section, people reported problems for the following locations: Woodlands, Yio Chu Kang, Punggol, Choa Chu Kang, Bukit Merah, Telok Blangah, Tiong Bahru, River Valley, Kallang, Boon Keng, Hougang, Kovan, Toa Payoh, East Coast, Pasir Ris, Commonwealth, Dover, East Coast, Hougang, Kovan, Toa Payoh, Bishan, and Woodlands.
Many reported having problems starting around 6 p.m., while one person claimed to have problems as early as 5.30 p.m.
The telecom then provided an update at approximately 9:15 p.m., stating that it had “successfully rerouted traffic” and that users should “progressively” see their TV+ and broadband services return online.
