SINGAPORE: Those who attended the sky lantern festival in Sentosa, which left many unhappy when the much-anticipated candle light-up was canceled at the last minute, will not receive a refund. On Tuesday, February 27, a Singapore Sky Lantern Festival representative announced that all ticket sales were final and non-refundable.
Shiermie Bautista of Asian Couture and Boutique stated on Facebook that tickets are good for admittance at the rescheduled event, which is expected to take place during the first week of April.
“You can resell your tickets at TicketSwap if you are unable to attend the following event. I appreciate your thoughtfulness and patience.
The highly publicized festival, which took place on February 21 at Palawan Green, cost S$50 per participant, not including booking costs.
The prospect of a photogenic lantern light-up including flickering candles had enticed participants. These lanterns were intended to hang from the sky for five to ten minutes, attached to the ground by strings that measured sixty meters.
