SINGAPORE: On Sunday, June 2, Presidents Tharman Shanmugaratnam of Singapore and Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine reiterated their “warm and friendly” relations.
According to the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an agreement was also signed between Singapore and Ukraine that would facilitate more excellent air connectivity between the two countries. This past weekend, Mr. Zelenskyy was in Singapore for the premier security conference in Asia, the Shangri-La Dialogue.
During his working visit, he visited President Tharman, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, and the Minister of Finance. Both Presidents had a wide-ranging discussion on regional and international developments and agreed on the importance of adherence to international law and the principles of the UN Charter in resolving conflicts,” stated MFA.
The ministry stated that during their meeting, Mr. Wong and he “agreed that the sovereignty, political independence, and territorial integrity of all countries must be respected” and talked about critical international developments. The leaders additionally addressed potential sectors that Ukraine and Singapore might expand commerce and financial relations.”
