SINGAPORE: The percentage of job openings for professionals, managers, executives, and technicians (PMET) climbed further from 56% in 2022 to 57.2% last year.
The percentage was 39.2 percent in 2013.
The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) stated on Monday, March 25, when it released its most recent job openings report, “The consistent increase in PMET share of job vacancies over the decade was a result of the higher demand for skilled workers.”
Information and communications, insurance and financial services, professional services, health and social services, and other sectors all contributed to the demand increase.
There were 174 open positions for every 100 job searchers as of December of last year. Additionally, the openings increased to 79,800 following six quarters of decreases from the record high in March 2022.
